These recordings are raw, live recordings of a new prepared guitar duo called Simian Carbuncle; Matt Clark and Ade Southby are regular participants in the Brighton improvised music scene, initially meeting at the regular Safehouse sessions and forming a more intuitive bond as a duo via these gatherings, other sessions at the Bees Mouth in Hove and impromptu jam sessions at each others’ homes.

The rule has always been “no effects”

The experiment is about what sounds we can make with the guitar on its own.

…but with preparations, so sticking a file into the pickups to make an audio click is ok…
